Mom Shorts
We are all very familiar with the "Mom Jean". We also have our opinions about it. Known as the man repeller, I personally think that there are a few lucky bodies (and booties) out there that can pull off a "mom jean" and look fabulous. I unfortunately am not one of those lucky few, so in come the "mom shorts". Literally, these are my mother's shorts. I got them hemmed a bit shorter and threw on a belt, and voila! I'm lucky to have a mom that doesn't throw anything away because I always find something I want whenever I visit. I threw on a comfy soft shirt and a bold cardigan (do you see a rust pattern yet?) to complete the easy casual look.
Shirt and Cardigan: Anthropologie. Shorts: Mom's (vintage?). Shoes: Calvin Klein. Belt: Forever21. Cuff and Necklace: Gifted.

Ethnic Florals
Today I felt like wearing something super breezy and lightweight to fight the heat. I also wanted to wear my new flea market finds. This outfit came to mind. The top is as breezy as the skirt is airy. I also saw an opportunity to experiment with more prints, and I think this combo looks great. The floral water color print seemed neutral enough to handle the bold ethnic print of the top without clashing or losing it's presence. Then I topped it off with my new finds :)
Top and Skirt: Anthropologie. Necklace and Sunglasses: Vintage. Bag: Lucky Penny. Shoes: Steve Madden. Silver Cuff: Gifted.

Melrose Trading Post
If it is a Sunday and I'm in Los Angeles you will find me at the Melrose Trading Post. GUARANTEED! It is has been my favorite flea market for about 6-7 years. I'm that devoted. Today I found so many great things, I wish I had carried more money with me. For anyone in the LA area that is interested in visiting this flea market, it happens every Sunday on the Fairfax High School campus on Melrose and Fairfax.
Vintage Sunglasses and a 1960's costume jewelry necklace.
The blue jeweled tube may look like a lipstick case but it is actually a lighter. Very cool.
TONS of jewelry today.
Green glasses and dinnerware from the 1800's.
Vintage Clothing. I tried on a beautiful dress that unfortunately was too big to salvage.
Amazing furniture.
I also bought my mom a vintage crystal ice bucket, candle holders, and little appetizer dishes. Are there any flea markets you guys like?

Peplum Glam
I'm in Los Angeles, Pacific Palisades to be exact, and it is HOT. But from what I hear SF is cold and foggy, so I really can't complain, can I? Nope :) I bought this strapless top a while ago and I'm so excited to break it out. It's one of my favorites. I can dress it up, dress it down, and wear it around. The best part? I don't feel like it's going to fall off and cause a wardrobe malfunction (thanks anthro).
Top: Anthropologie. Jeans: Zara. Shoes: Miss Albright. Silver Cuff: Gifted by my Mama :)
