Contrast

Happy Monday!

I hope you all had a lovely weekend! Below is a date night look from Saturday I wanted to share with you all. I'm getting really tired of layering up because it's still pretty chilly in SF, so this cashmere cape style sweater was the perfect solution. The thick warm knit is a perfectly cozy piece, while the shape is still special enough to dress up. I loved the contrast of the soft sweater with my leather like jeans, and metallic heels. A few accessories, like my statement necklace was the final touch before I headed out!

April Must Have's

April Must Have's

Instead of covering a trend today, I thought I would share some must have's for April. The past week, we saw some warmer temps that were making me crave pretty sundresses, neutral sandals for day and night, pops of color and boho influence, and of course, new sunglasses. What are you craving for April??

Mix It Up!

Happy, happy Thursday! I think Thursdays are my favorite day; it means I've survived the hump (Wednesday) and the weekend begins in a mere 24 hours!

Speaking of favorites, this outfit may just be a new favorite of mine. Sometimes inspiration gives you a crazy idea, and you just have to go with it. I was at Zara, looking for a quick lunch break fix, and I pretty much walked out with this outfit. The inspiration came from these trousers. The fit, color, and stripes are just so perfect for this season. When I came home I decided to get really nautical with it and clash the pants with some stripes on top. To keep the look from being too busy, I grounded it with a short sleeve denim top. For some glamourous elements, I threw on a fun necklace, and metallic pumps. And finally to keep myself warm, because I wore this on a drizzly day, my trusty cocoon coat was the perfect topper. I love the mix of patterns, colors, textures, and silhouettes with this look, and I hope you do too!

Splurge or Save?

I believe I've already expressed how I am obsessed with getting my hands on a pair of Jenni Kayne d'orsay flats. Ever since then I've seen a bunch of copy cat pairs. So here is the ultimate question, should one splurge? Or save? Check out the real and fake versions below- what do you think?

Chinese Laundry imitation here for $55 plus 50% off

Of course this pair is the real pair I covet and would LOVE to have!! Isn't it gorgeous?!

Hot Pink

Hot pink is the epitome of "girly", so when I wear the color I like to take it out of it's element. I'll pair it with boyfriend jeans, messy layers, and in this case, all black, with a hint of edge, just to keep the color more me. That way, I feel as though I am wearing the color, not the other way around.

Puffy Vest

I've never been a fan of "puffy outerwear". I've always thought it looked cheap, and a little tacky, even though I know it's quite functional. Well ladies (and perhaps gentlemen?), after this terribly cold Winter we had, I finally gave in. And after figuring out how to make this puffy, shiny, piece of clothing look cool, I figured it's about time to throw it up on the blog. Maybe it will inspire you all to give into some functional outerwear? Kyle did say this was his favorite look of mine so far...

Jacket: J Brand. Vest: Uniqlo (men's). Sweater: Unknown. Jeans: Zara. Shoes: Pour La Victoire. Beanie: Kyle's.

I also wanted to share this little gif with you all. Even after a couple of years of having Kyle take my pictures out in the open, when there are people walking by, I get awkward. This isn't even the worst of it!

Trend-Spotting: Royal Blue

I absolutely loved the Fall 2013 L'Wren Scott collection! What stood out to me the most was his use of the color Royal Blue. Combining it with beautiful embellishments, and opulent golds was genius, gorgeous, and refreshing. Since then, I've been seeing royal blue popping up here and there, and I think it's a fantastic color for Spring! I would love to imitate the above combination in a more street style friendly way; maybe for a date night look? Below you can shop shop royal blue pieces, at both an investment price-point, and a budget friendly version. My favorite find is the Zara pumps- they are beautiful and under $100!
