Trend Spotting: Embellishments

Trend Spotting: Embellishments

Now that the Holidays are in full swing, finding simple pieces with a little embellished details will take your outfits much further during your holiday rounds. Some sparkle on a heel or collar will add that extra touch, and you'll standout among the ugly xmas sweaters ;)

Trend Spotting: Military Details

The military look is going to be a big one for Fall, so below are a few options. You can either get the feel of it with casual olive cargo jackets, or go full on out with sharp cuts, and rows of buttons!

Trend-Spotting: Scarf Print

A trend that will blend seamlessly from Summer to Fall is the scarf print trend. Much like the current floral print... everything... we've been seeing, the scarf print often is reminiscent of floral and paisley prints, but can be earthier- perfect for cold weather layering! A dress can be worn now with some neutral sandals, and later with tights, socks, and booties. A pencil skirt is always perfect for the office, now with a flowy blouse, and later with a turtleneck sweater, and wide leg pants are always seasonally appropriate!

Day to Night

Day to Night
Since we are in such a transitional season, I thought I should do a post on transitional dressing, but not for the weather. Transitional dressing can also be applied to the day. A lot of women these days are always on the go-go-go, so you want to make the best of what you have available to you. For an easy transition from day to night, focus on just swapping out your accessories to make the statement. Stick to a versatile cotton jersey dress, that has a unique cut or drape to it. It's just unique enough, while maintaining that effortless casual feel. For the day, pair it with comfy flat sandals, a great carry-all bag, a straw fedora if you wish, and if it's chillier, grab a lightweight jacket (you can see I love the utility look). For night, add a statement necklace, grab a sleek black clutch, put on some great neutral heels, and swipe on some bold lipstick. The bold lip and necklace help draw attention, making you look more evening appropriate. If it's chillier, add any coat you have in your arsenal.
What do you guys think of the set above?
