Club Copycat

Remember how I said I wanted to recreate this look? Well this is my attempt at it, and I'm pretty satisfied. What I liked so much about the original look was the effortlessness of it all. The look really did speak to a "throw it on and go" vibe, but every element seems to be chosen in a meticulous manner to perfect it. I was lucky enough to have a lot of similar pieces in my closet, speaks to my hoarding/shopping nature, but the original outfit makes me crave an awesome tan jacket with contrasting sleeves now.

Look Book Love: Club Monaco

I'm absolutely head over heels for Club Monaco's Spring 2012 looks. They showcase how to perfectly transition from Winter to Spring, and in San Francisco, these looks seem to be ever appropriate. I love how they have sundresses paired with cozy wool tights and socks, with straw hats to keep things fun. Below are my favorite outfits from the Look Book, but you can check more looks out here.

This has a Parisian vibe, which I can always appreciate.

I'm recreating this look ASAP!

I love the pop of color in an otherwise neutral and classic look.

Looks like stripes will still be on trend next year.

Love the cute dresses paired with grey wool socks and straw hats in the looks above. Dressed down but still chic.

Awkward

Hope everyone had a lovely weekend!

The title of this post perfectly describes how I feel about this outfit, and that's exactly why I love it. The awkward flowy/boxy silhouette is something I found refreshing and charming. I call the sweater I'm wearing my "ugly" sweater. I don't feel as though it's ugly when it is on, but on the rack it didn't look too great. I tried it on anyway though, since it was sooooo cheap, and loved it. It's very warm, though not very versatile.

Product Review: Lush Jasmine & Henna Fluff-Eaze

Product Review time!!! As I mentioned in this post, I had also bought a Lush product for my dry hair. That product was Lush's Jasmine & Henna Fluff- Eaze.

This product promises to take dry, frizzy locks and turn it into beautiful shiny soft healthy hair. It uses super moisturizing henna as the main ingredient, but it won't change your hair color. It has a goopy texture and smells very strongly of jasmine, which could be a good or bad thing depending on the person. I have used this twice now. The package recommends to use 1/2 a pot for long hair, but I used much less than that both times. The first time I concentrated on the bottom half of my hair, and left the product on for about 2 hours. I washed it out with my regular shampoo and used a little of my regular conditioner after. My hair felt super soft after styling and smelled like the product even after the 3rd time I shampooed. I personally like the smell once it has faded, but fresh out of your first shower it's pretty over powering. The second time I used this I put it on the bottom 3/4 of my hair, and a little on the top surface. I then kept it on over night. I put a towel over my pillow and it didn't stain or get messy at all which was nice. I washed it out the same way as the first time the next morning. After styling my hair I could see a much bigger difference. My hair was waaaay shinier, hydrated, and softer than ever. My hair never felt limp or greasy. Just incredible healthy. Overall I love this product, and after both successful Lush product trials I would definitely look into more products.

Throwback

This skirt has quickly become one of my favorites. I have to restrain myself from reaching for it on a regular basis, and by that I mean almost daily. The outfit made be feel super retro and vintage-y even though all the pieces are current and pretty modern. I feel like I should be in Europe, in the Fall, during the 40's or something. Not the best timing to be in Europe either...

I like integrating warm season pieces within cold weather appropriate outfits because 1) it keeps things interesting, and 2) It makes me feel super savvy for spending how much I spent on it and wearing it year round. It's win win for me.

Perfectly Plaid

This post is going to be short and sweet as I'm running out the door for a quick day road trip. Sometimes you just have to get out of the city to clear your mind. All I have to say about the outfit is that a perfectly fitting pair of trousers can really take an otherwise casual look up a notch, and I'm loving this new pair I found at Anthropologie the other day.
