Cold Shoulder

Sometimes, instead of piling on accessories, I look to pre-accessorized pieces to make getting dressed in the morning that much faster. The embellished collar, cut out shoulders, and bold coral color that wasn't interpreted as well in the photos, make a jeans and tee statement worthy!
Happy Monday!

Product Review: New Hair Routine

For this post, I wanted to let you guys in on a fairly new hair routine I have. You see, I have very curly hair, that I obviously style straight on a daily basis. This means that my hair sees a lot of heat, and therefore is very dry. I've been trying different products for years to try and combat the damage I cause, to bring my hair back to health. I think I've finally stumbled upon a routine that has left my hair softer, shinier, and healthier than it's been it years. So, I have listed what I've been using, and how, and hopefully anyone out there with crazy tresses will want to give this a try.

Lush Godiva Shampoo: This shampoo smells great and leaves my hair feeling incredible. It's a 2+1 shampoo/ conditioner, so it's very moisturizing, but I still use a conditioner after washing my hair with this.

Lush Trichomania Shampoo: I use this on days that my hair really needs moisture. It has a lot of coconut oil in it, and leaves my hair clean, shiny, soft, and voluminous.

Lush American Cream Conditioner: In the shower, this doesn't feel like it's doing a great job at repairing your hair. Once your hair is dry, though, you can see and feel the difference. It doesn't leave your hair feeling coated with chemicals; the oils are actually absorbed into your hair. It also smells amazing, and you can see the vanilla bits in the conditioner.

Moroccan Oil: I rub a hint of this oil in between my palms and smooth it on my hair right after I hop out of the shower. It is moisturizing, but mainly helps protect from styling damage.

Lush R&B Hair Treatment: I put a pea-sized amount of this in my hair once it is styled, concentrating on the ends. This stuff is a miracle worker. If there is one thing on this list that you would want to try, this would be it.

Lush Jasmin and Henna Fluff Eaze: Mentioned in this post, I use this about once a month as a pre wash treatment for my hair. I definitely swear by this, but can understand how much of a hassle it may seem to be.

As you can see, I've made quite a transition over to Lush products, and I'm quite pleased that everything works incredibly well, and I'm being healthier about what I'm putting on my body on a daily basis. Using all of this also can seem to be kind of pricey, and while my specific routine is probably more excessive than most, these things do last a long long time, especially Moroccan Oil and R&B. Is there a beauty routine you guys couldn't live without? I'd love to hear all about it!

Product Review: Lush Jasmine & Henna Fluff-Eaze

Product Review time!!! As I mentioned in this post, I had also bought a Lush product for my dry hair. That product was Lush's Jasmine & Henna Fluff- Eaze.

This product promises to take dry, frizzy locks and turn it into beautiful shiny soft healthy hair. It uses super moisturizing henna as the main ingredient, but it won't change your hair color. It has a goopy texture and smells very strongly of jasmine, which could be a good or bad thing depending on the person. I have used this twice now. The package recommends to use 1/2 a pot for long hair, but I used much less than that both times. The first time I concentrated on the bottom half of my hair, and left the product on for about 2 hours. I washed it out with my regular shampoo and used a little of my regular conditioner after. My hair felt super soft after styling and smelled like the product even after the 3rd time I shampooed. I personally like the smell once it has faded, but fresh out of your first shower it's pretty over powering. The second time I used this I put it on the bottom 3/4 of my hair, and a little on the top surface. I then kept it on over night. I put a towel over my pillow and it didn't stain or get messy at all which was nice. I washed it out the same way as the first time the next morning. After styling my hair I could see a much bigger difference. My hair was waaaay shinier, hydrated, and softer than ever. My hair never felt limp or greasy. Just incredible healthy. Overall I love this product, and after both successful Lush product trials I would definitely look into more products.

Are there any hair products you swear by??

Product Review: Lush Love Lettuce

So something you guys may not know about me is that I'm kind of a product junky. I like to try new products regularly for skincare and hair care, and while I mainly stick to old favorites, adding new products helps change up the routine, and maybe leads to new favorites. I've decided that I should share my product adventures with all of you guys.

First up for this series is Love Lettuce by Lush.

This is the first product I have used by Lush. I've known about this store for 10+ years. I've even walked in a few times but have never committed to buying anything. There's no real reason for this other than I just haven't. Lately I've been wanting to convert to using more natural products, and last Sunday while shopping with my mom I decided to go in with her to buy something super hydrating for my hair. I did walk out with something for that (review to come later), but I also walked out with this face mask. I thought it would be fun to do with my mom on her last night here, and for under seven bucks, why not?

The product boasts the use of honey as a main ingredient along with almonds, seaweed, and lavender oil. It's supposed to be super cleansing and hydrating all while balancing an oily T-Zone. It's a thick texture that's green, and actually does not contain any lettuce like the name says.

Final verdict? I absolutely love this mask! It's fresh so you have to keep it in the fridge and only lasts a few weeks before spoiling, which is a draw back, but my skin feels amazing. My mom, whose skin is dryer than mine and more aged, also loved it. It smells like calming lavender and feels good on. It made my skin feel amazingly soft and clean, and it looks a lot brighter. The best part is that after I cleaned it off I didn't feel that tightness you usually feel after cleaning your face, and left a very moisturized feel. The immediate difference I noticed also lasted days after use. This is something I will be using over and over. I hope I feel the same about the hair stuff I bought once I use it. We'll find out soon...!
