Office Flannel

Flannel shirts are probably one of my favorite type of tops. They are comfortable, warm, and always add a pop of color and print. They are however, difficult to keep appropriate in professional settings. I find that pairing the top with a blazer, and black skinny jeans, makes it look a little more professional, so then you can add funky finishing touches, to make the look more ... you.

Dress it Down with Denim

I bet you all have a few dresses in your closets that you love, but find too dressy to wear. I have a handful, and sometimes it pains me to not bring them out on a regular basis. That is until I thought of the easiest solution: dress it down. The dress I'm wearing below is 3 years old, and had been worn twice, but now, with a denim shirt layered over it, to make it casual, I have a feeling this, and all my other dresses, will be coming out a lot more.

Trend-Spotting: Distressed Denim

Just recently, I've started appreciating distressed denim more. I've experimented with it myself, recently, and I find them a great alternative to classic denim pants for the summer. Loose, distressed, boyfriend style jeans are great to dress up or down, while well fitted denim with distressed details are also just as versatile, if not more.

J.Crew: Looks I Love

Happy Friday! This week felt so, so long, I'm glad it's over.

J.Crew just recently released a few looks, which I am currently loving, so I thought I would share. I love their styling in these photos, and the juxtaposition of glam meets laid back. It's a style they do all too well, and these looks exceed my expectations.

Going to try this with my j brands and a striped top soon!

Spot of Leopard

What's more glam than red lips, and leopard print? Not too much. Throw these two essentials into any outfit, even a basic white blouse and torn jeans, and you got yourself a simple, easy, and hot date night look.

The Skimmer

The perfect flat can take you from season to season, and from occasion to occasion, and I'm thinking that Madewell's new Fall line-up of flats are just the right buy. I've picked out my favorites from their new batch of lust worthy flats, but you should check them all out. I'm sure you'll find your perfect pair!

Birds of a Feather

Though I don't work in a conservative office by any means, I still like to look professional all the time. Hey, dress for the position you want, right? To keep things me, and fun, though, I always look to colors, prints, and patterns to bring life to otherwise simple pieces. The parrot print on this pencil skirt was way too cute to pass up, and it's definitely a stand out skirt in a sea of solid colors.

Warrior

Happy Monday everyone! This weekend was absolutely beautiful in the city, and what better timing for Sugarlips to be so kind to send me their Warriors of the Mountains Blazer! I absolutely fell in love with the ikat print, and let my inner Florence Welch out and styled it in a totally fun and eclectic way with a dress, hat, and funky booties.

Dress: American Apparel. Topper: c/o Sugarlips (here) Booties: Anthropologie. Bag: H&M. Hat: Pendleton.

Though items were gifted, I would not partner with any company I do not believe in, and would not wear and style items I do not love.

Trend-Spotting: Sleeveless Shift Dresses

For the Summer, nothing is easier than throwing on a loose fitting shift dress. The silhouette is airy, keeping you cool, but the whole look is easily pulled together by this one piece. Don't be afraid to get daring with different prints, textures, and colors, because sometimes in the heat, accessorizing is not an appealing option...

New In and A Sneak Peek!

Happy Friday! I'm in for a busy weekend, but really quickly I wanted to show you all two things I'm very excited about.

First- I know you guys know how long I've been looking for the perfect leopard heels, and after I missed out on the Madewell pair, I'm so happy to have found these guys from Zara, which were half the price of the Madewell ones on sale!

And since you see my new rug up close under my shoes, I thought I'd give you a sneak peek of my living room, which is still in progress. What do you think?

Suede

The only good thing about living in San Francisco in the Summertime, and it's lack of a legitimate Summer, is that when all the Winter and Fall items hit super sale, you can still wear them for the next few months, instead of having to wait it out. Take this gorgeous burnt rose suede skirt from Madewell. The price dropped just as San Francisco's temperatures did, giving me the perfect chance to snatch it up and wear it right away. For today I paired it with a light chambray shirt, trench coat, and Madewell heels, making this appropriate for a day in the office, and for a fancy dinner afterwards.

Button up: Zara (similar). Skirt (leather and knit) and Heels: Madewell (similar but cheaper in stores). Trench: H&M. Clutch: Anthropologie. Necklace: Vintage. Silver Bracelet: Vintage. Coral Bracelet: J. Crew.
