Trend-Spotting: Gladiator

Trend-Spotting: Gladiator

Perfect for pairing with your pretty Summer dresses, gladiator sandals add a tough edge to any look. I love a heeled version for the evening, and a flat brown one for the day. How would you work this look?

Throw A Belt On It

It must look like I live on a different planet than the rest of the world because of the umbrella present in the pictures. I swear, these are as current as earlier this week! Trust me, I'm pretty sick of it too! Since I'm so tired of silhouettes being drowned out by layer after layer, in this outfit, I decided to wear one shirt, a thick coat over it for warmth, and cinched it at the waist with a belt, to show that yes, there is a waist under all the layers! Of course, I had to incorporate a little pattern play there, and what could possibly be the worst shoe option for rainy weather, ever!

Have a great weekend!

Currently Craving: Bucket Bag

Currently Craving: Bucket Bag

Ever since my 3-year old go-to bucket bag has been showing serious signs of wear (it may fall apart in the middle of the street) I've had my eye out for the perfect replacement. Of course the Alexander Wang would be the perfect option, but since it's way, way, way too pricey for me currently, this classic Madewell version seems to be reasonable choice!

Classic

Another rain/mist look for you all here! This is something I wore to work, to try an remain put together, and weather appropriate. This type of weather makes it difficult for me to feel creative, because all I want to be is cozy. A warm sweater, and comfy jeans are an easy go-to, and the hat is a must to keep my naturally curly hair somewhat tame.

Summer Showers?

Who would have thought I would have to break out my big umbrella when Summer started? Yesterday morning, after a beautiful Saturday, I woke up with fog so heavy, I couldn't see the houses across the street. It wasn't raining, but with the mist and wind, it may as well have been. What you see is what I wore yesterday to run some errands around the city. Basics, with fun layers, and a new varsity style jacket, that will be my go-to all season long!

Trend-Spotting: Summertime Romp

Trend-Spotting: Summer Rompers

For Summer, I love wearing rompers. Now, we all know rompers are inconvenient, especially in public bathrooms (har har), but how can you say 'no' to such a fun silhouette. A denim version is great for casual outings, treat it like your tee and denim short combo. A pretty printed one is perfect for brunch, or even a casual day-time party, just like a printed sun dress. A great structured black romper is great for dinner and drinks, just like your favorite LBD. I would love to incorporate any or all of the above options in my closet. Would you?

Flower Power

Nothing like adding some tough leather to feminine florals for the ultimate contrast in dressing. Have a lovely weekend!

Currently Craving: Denim Moto

Since I've been finding myself wearing my moto style leather jackets non-stop, in anticipation of SF's regularly scheduled Indian Summer, I've been looking for a denim version as a warm weather replacement. This on by Theysken's Theory is ideal, but obviously I'll be looking for a more affordable version. Have you seen any I should check out?? Pin It

Saturated

This jacket has become a go-to for me on mild weathered days. The bright pattern, and saturated colors makes getting dressed so easy, as the jacket makes a statement on it's own. Pairing it with a white blouse, and faded blue jeans just felt right, and adding some turquoise jewelry my Dad gifted me was the finishing touch.

Jazz It Up

Happy Monday! Below is something I wore for an impromptu dinner date after running errands all day. I was wearing the sweater and pants with flats, and when it came time to get ready to go out, I just added some layered jewels, heels, and a red lip to make it dinner appropriate. Easy peasy!

Trensd-Spotting: Parisian Flair

Trend-Spotting: Parisian Flair

Lately I've been noticing a lot of Parisian influences in outfits while people watching on the streets. It's definitely a style I love, as it's so classic, clean, and still fashionable. Above is something I would wear to have the same feel, but in warmer weather you can swap the pants for a flippy skirt, the tee for a tank, and the scarf for a pretty necklace. Would you wear this??

The Formula

I've come to realize, that when I want a simple, and streamlined look, I always turn to a silk oversized blouse, and dark, sometimes coated, jeans. I always play with colors, and accessories, but the foundation is there, and I've found it to be my personal fail-proof look. With a simple swap of shoes and accessories, it's great for work, a date night, a casual weekend day, etc. Do you have an outfit formula you always go to? I'd love to know!

Currently Craving: Bejeweled Collar

I'm generally not the type to like something "pre-accessorized" for me. I think it takes away from the versatility of said item, however, this jeweled collar top from J. Crew has me reconsidering. The sleek shape, and the crisp white color offset the dainty jewels just enough to make this feel timeless. I'm sorry the picture above couldn't show you more details, but I've seen this in person, and it's just fabulous!

Grunge

So if you all haven't caught on yet, I have been loving the grunge influences I've been seeing for Spring/Summer. Though this style can easily cross the line from chic, to trashy, when tastefully done, I love how it adds a good amount of edge and carelessness to any look. After my last Splurge or Save post, I immediately went out and snagged this skirt before my size sold out. While I can see myself wearing this skirt with sleek button ups, breezy tanks, and of course flannel for the ultimate 90's look, this time I thought to just pair it with my favorite leather jacket, a Mumford & Sons concert tee, and a bold necklace for a Saturday night.

Jacket: All Saints. Tee: Mumford & Sons. Skirt: Zara. Shoes: Aerosoles. Necklace: via Stitch Fix. Belt: Vintage.
