Cold Shoulder

Sometimes, instead of piling on accessories, I look to pre-accessorized pieces to make getting dressed in the morning that much faster. The embellished collar, cut out shoulders, and bold coral color that wasn't interpreted as well in the photos, make a jeans and tee statement worthy!
Happy Monday!

Trend-Spotting: White It Out

One of my favorite warm weather looks is an all white outfit. This season, they are all the rage! They are the chicest, and cleanest blank canvas to work with. The only downside; stains- so be careful! Below, I put together an all white outfit, with some colorful add-on options. I love that the amazing McQueen blazer and jeans are a similar off white shade, subtly contrasting the stark white blouse. I added pointy toe shoes with a metallic detail from Zara, as the last white piece. For some pops of color choose either between a statement earring or necklace, add retro cat-eye sunglasses, and a bold red lip. I also added a crazy clutch as an option as well.

Tips

I'm planing to clean out my closet and bedroom, and coincidentally stumbled upon this:

Good questions to ask yourself about your home clutter, and more importantly, your life overall!

Happy Friday! My Dad is visiting this weekend, and I'm looking forward to a nice time.

Orange You Happy It's Thursday?!

Thursdays are hard. Its right after Wednesday (hump-day), and right before the weekend. You lose all motivation (to work), and yet find motivation (to play). It's a tricky day, and I'm finding it the most taxing day of the week, the more, and more I work a full-time schedule. That's why I've been dedicating my weekends to good friends, good fun, and good food. It gives you that perfect charge to make it through the week.

For my outfit, I wore basics, but punched it up with colors and textures. The burnt orange button up adds a pop of color to the whole look. The contrasting sleeves on what is becoming my favorite Spring jacket, adds texture, and visual interest. The jeans are perfectly fitting, and worn in, so they pull the whole look together without adding too much else. Of course, I had to add a funky necklace, to make it more me, but even without, I felt like this outfit was perfect, chic, and comfy.

Celebrity Style: Olivia Palermo

 (image)

Need I say more? She is the epitome of always chic, and always a little daring. Olivia Palermo is not afraid of color, texture, or different silhouettes, but always manages to put together ensembles that are chic, professional, and amazing. I can't really say more, because the pictures perfectly sum it up- Olivia Palermo has killer style, and I want it all!

Hint of Skin

Hey everyone! This is something I wore over the weekend, on Saturday night. I finally found myself a bra top that I liked, and the weather on Saturday was so amazing I was able to wear it all day and night. Saturday day, I actually wore this top with olive green high-waisted shorts for the beach, and at night all I had to do was throw on my trusty blazer, favorite AA trousers, and some heels. I kept it all black to let the pattern of the top stand out, and to make a somewhat risky look seem more evening appropriate.

Black Thorn

Readers, meet my new favorite pants! These black and white floral J Brands, that I've mentioned before, have quickly stolen my heart! They fit amazing, are super soft, and hold their shape better than any other pants I've owned! I can see myself pairing these with a myriad of outfits, but for this one I kept it simple, with all neutrals. I wore my trusty leather jacket, a simple oversized tank, and nude pointy toe pumps. While the purpose of that was to let the print be front and center, I added a coral belt for a pop of color, and my vintage collar necklace for some bling. What do you think?

Trend-Spotting: Track Pant/Trouser Hybrid

Another trend that I've been seeing all over the place is the track pant/trouser hybrid. A few of my favorite bloggers have even sported an outfit showcasing this trend, beautifully. This falls into the bigger "sporty chic" umbrella trend we are seeing for Spring, but I wanted to focus on the track pant because I find it the more difficult piece to pull of. Though difficult, I do find it chic when done right. The key is to pair it with clothing that will make it look like less of a work out, or lazy day, and more like an intentional ensemble. I think these pants look best when paired with a loose silk top, a well fitted and structured blazer, and either open toed sandals, or pointy toed pumps.

Currently Craving: Weekend Flats

These flats from Anthropologie are the perfect weekend flats. Hell, they are perfect all the time flats! I love the trend combo here; merging bright colors with animal print. Everything about them is perfect, except for the price-tag. That's a bit difficult to swallow :-/

Have a great weekend everyone! It's going to be sunny and warm in the city this weekend, so I'll be outside ALL the time!

Happy Thursday dear readers! I can't wait till 6pm tomorrow... It's the weekend!!! Below I'm wearing a pretty simple outfit, with just a pop of color with my shoes. Sorry, I don't have too much more to say- I'm so exhausted I'm gonna probably hit the pillows soon! 'Till tomorrow...!

Inspirational

Now that there is Pinterest (follow me) to aid in collecting and organizing images we love, I've been looking through my "inspiration" iPhoto album to see if I can toss the folder. But as I look through it, I find it hard to delete even one picture (out of over 300). There are bits and pieces I like, and it seems that I apply this to a lot of other things in my life, especially my closet. There are shoes I haven't worn in ages that I refuse to get rid of because I like something about them. All of the images I've saved from all over the web are too precious to get rid of, so instead, I decided to share a few :)

Blooming

My love for floral pants is going strong, so I apologize in advance for the repetition of all things flowery. Really, there is more to come, I promise. Here I am wearing a bold neon shirt, with the bold colorful pant. I say, if you're going for it, you may as well go all out. To tone it down for work, I wore my trusty black blazer. The blazer covers up the t-shirt knot for the most part, but that's there because the shirt is way too big for me, I just couldn't resist the soft knit, or the ridiculously cheap sale price ($2)!

Basic

Hello, hello! Happy Monday! I hope your weekend was nice and relaxing so you're prepared for the week. Mine certainly was not; a little under the weather, but we don't need to delve into that. The outfit I have up today is something I felt is very casual office appropriate. I'm wearing my white blazer from tobi again, and I paired it with my nude button up from gap. I thought that the two colors were fresh, and bright together, making it the perfect outfit to start the week with.

Blazer: Tobi (sold out on tobi, but similar here). Blouse: Gap. Jeans: Seven For All Mankind (super old). Shoes: Modern Vintage (similar). Bag: Unknown from Therapy SF (similar). Necklace H&M. Cuff: Banana Republic.
