Cocktail Hour

When it's freezing cold outside, and you have a nice event to go to after work, what do you do? LAYER! After work Monday night, I went to an event at Benefit Cosmetics, so I had to look decently cute, right? I wore a pretty peplum dress from Anthro, and layered a cropped cashmere sweater over it. A warm wool cocoon coat, fleece lined leggings, and knee high boots protect from the elements. Of course, I added a sparkly necklace, and bubblegum pink lip- it's Benefit Cosmetics after all!

Red Carpet Round-Up: 2013 SAG Awards

I absolutely loved Marion Cotillard's ensemble at the SAG awards this past weekend. She looked absolutely gorgeous in this gown! I loved how it accentuated the blue in her eyes. Her makeup was the perfect compliment to the get-up, as was the necklace, and watch. The only thing I would get rid of would be the clutch, it seemed out of place, though in the scheme of things, it's very minor. Amazing!

Cat Walk

Hey all! This is a recent look I wore to go out to see Kyle's band at a local venue. I felt as though the leopard coat was rock n' roll enough, a la Kate Moss, to warrant wearing a crisp blouse. This is also definitely something I could see myself wearing to the office. I'm surprised at how this bold printed coat is so versatile! Also, instead of my usual red lip, I've been trying a bold pink one by Nars. What do you think?

Sunday Wears

Happy Monday everyone! Ah, back to the grind, and I feel like the weekend is long gone...
This is what I wore on Sunday, which is basically my Sunday uniform every weekend. A soft concert tee, loose jeans, a sweater, and warm coat is a necessity. I decided to throw on some heeled booties, and a statement necklace, just to make the outfit a little more special than usual.

Trend-Spotting: Tuxedo Chic

Trend-Spotting: Tuxedo Chic

I LOVE the tuxedo look I've been seeing on the red-carpet, and most recent fashion shows- so here is how I would wear the look. Just finish it off with a bold red lip, cat-eye, and slicked back hair!

Hope you all had a great weekend!

Plaid Pants

Another result of my New Year's Resolution, I wore a pair of pants I haven't pulled out of my closet in a long time. While I love the fit, I feel like the plaid is too Christmasy. I decided to keep everything else neutral and streamlined to help keep the "holiday" feel out of the outfit. I still don't know how I feel about the pants, or the outfit in general. What do you guys think?

Borrowed From The Boys

I absolutely love menswear. I think guys' outfits are just flat out cool. So I decided to emulate a masculine look, and make it a little feminine. I threw on a plain white tee, bf jeans and bf blazer as the main players for the look. A sparkly necklace and red lip are the feminizing pieces, and the booties are the final touch. What do you think of this borrowed from the boys look?

Mixed Media

Happy happy Monday! I didn't have to go into work today, which I'm pretty stoked about. You need an extra day every now and then to just catch up and recharge, which exactly what I did.

This outfit is something that was haphazardly put together, fortunately I looked like I was put together... sometimes it doesn't work that way... I've been obsessed with statement necklaces recently, and this one is probably my favorite. How awesome is it?

What I'd Wear

What I'd Wear

Happy Sunday everyone! I hope you had a good weekend!

Above I have something that I would love to replicate! I think the skirt has beautiful colors to play off of, so I went for some bold jewelry and shoes to do so. You know I love pairing a denim shirt with bold pieces to make it more wearable, and the cocoon coat is just a great topper!

Getting Knitty

So this past weekend, the Sex and the City movie was on TV. I managed to tune in just as Carrie was in the phone booth, wearing an oversized sweater over a little dress, with booties, and knee high socks. I loved the look, so I decided to recreate it my way. I don't know if knee high socks are something I would wear like this often, but I did have fun being Carrie for a day.
