Here are some ideas for lovely mother's day gifts, and though all of these sit on a pricier side of things, it's great inspiration. Of course, a gorgeous bouquet of flowers would also be a perfect gift, especially if it's DIY and personalized ;)

Three Way Lace
I love a good lace skirt, in a neutral color. It is a classic, feminine, and versatile piece that can be worn in countless ways. I've showcased three scenarios, above. Enjoy!

Mix It Up!
Happy, happy Thursday! I think Thursdays are my favorite day; it means I've survived the hump (Wednesday) and the weekend begins in a mere 24 hours!
Speaking of favorites, this outfit may just be a new favorite of mine. Sometimes inspiration gives you a crazy idea, and you just have to go with it. I was at Zara, looking for a quick lunch break fix, and I pretty much walked out with this outfit. The inspiration came from these trousers. The fit, color, and stripes are just so perfect for this season. When I came home I decided to get really nautical with it and clash the pants with some stripes on top. To keep the look from being too busy, I grounded it with a short sleeve denim top. For some glamourous elements, I threw on a fun necklace, and metallic pumps. And finally to keep myself warm, because I wore this on a drizzly day, my trusty cocoon coat was the perfect topper. I love the mix of patterns, colors, textures, and silhouettes with this look, and I hope you do too!

Rich Tones
I've been wearing so many neutral colors lately, I decided to brighten up my wardrobe palette with this look. Burgundy and camel is a combination I really like, so I decided to just pile it on.

NYFW Recap: Personal Favorites
Another NYFW has come and gone, and though I was too busy to keep up with all of the shows this time around, below are the few that did capture my eye. Please, share which notable shows I may have missed so I can check them out!
I may be biased, but I loved J. Crew's Fall 2013 presentation! I love the ethnic feel to all the patterns used, and of course, the embellishments were done tastefully. There are a few notable coats I will be coveting, and the dress, from the first image is so modern and chic.
Jenny Packham gave Old Hollywood Glamour a revival in the Fall 2013 Collection. All the gowns were phenomenal, and I wouldn't be surprised if I saw a few of these walk the Red Carpet, especially at the Oscars. Gorgeous!
Staying true to the boyish, minimalist aesthetic, the Steven Alan Fall 2013 presentation was not a far cry from the usual collection, but the layering done above was something I found interesting. I'll definitely try the shirt dress peeking out of a skirt, like above, soon!
Oscar de la Renta presented another amazingly wonderful collection, full of beautiful colors, prints, and embellishments. His collections always seem to infuse vintage elements with today's modern aesthetic perfectly. Always a pleasure to view his collections.
Marchesa does what it does best: femininity. I loved the floral embroidery, and tulle elements of all the pieces, and while some may think it's been done again, and again, I will never tire of these ladies' designs.

Leather Look
I've been coveting a pair of burgundy buttery soft leather leggings much like these, but when they cost a good chunk of my monthly rent, I have to come back to reality. Next best thing? Coated denim! At a fraction of the cost, they have the same edgy feel as any leather legging you come across, and best part is that they're machine washable! Which makes it ok for me to live in these- duh. I may have to get myself a black pair in the near future... (New Year's resolution still ongoing)
Have a fabulous weekend!

Black & White
Hi all! I haven't dressed in an ensemble like this in a long, long time. The dress code at my work is pretty laid back, and on top of that, I'm running around most of the time, so jeans, booties, and tees work best. However, sometimes a girl needs to dress up, so this is my version of a power suit. I took the classic pencil/blouse combo, in a very simple color scheme, and punched it up with prints, and piping details. A pop of green in the necklace, an architectural shoe, and cocoon coat, really modernize the classic look, making it quite timeless, if I do say so myself ;) What do you think?

Cocktail Hour
When it's freezing cold outside, and you have a nice event to go to after work, what do you do? LAYER! After work Monday night, I went to an event at Benefit Cosmetics, so I had to look decently cute, right? I wore a pretty peplum dress from Anthro, and layered a cropped cashmere sweater over it. A warm wool cocoon coat, fleece lined leggings, and knee high boots protect from the elements. Of course, I added a sparkly necklace, and bubblegum pink lip- it's Benefit Cosmetics after all!
