I'll Have What She's Having

I absolutely love the outfit, from the above image, for a casual Summer day (here), so I put together a very similar outfit below. Throwing a striped blazer over a white tee and denim shorts definitely amps up the look. Tell me, would you wear denim shorts and a blazer together?

Mix It Up!

Happy, happy Thursday! I think Thursdays are my favorite day; it means I've survived the hump (Wednesday) and the weekend begins in a mere 24 hours!

Speaking of favorites, this outfit may just be a new favorite of mine. Sometimes inspiration gives you a crazy idea, and you just have to go with it. I was at Zara, looking for a quick lunch break fix, and I pretty much walked out with this outfit. The inspiration came from these trousers. The fit, color, and stripes are just so perfect for this season. When I came home I decided to get really nautical with it and clash the pants with some stripes on top. To keep the look from being too busy, I grounded it with a short sleeve denim top. For some glamourous elements, I threw on a fun necklace, and metallic pumps. And finally to keep myself warm, because I wore this on a drizzly day, my trusty cocoon coat was the perfect topper. I love the mix of patterns, colors, textures, and silhouettes with this look, and I hope you do too!

Boyfriend Jeans

I've been looking for a pair of BF jeans for a long time, and I finally found the perfect pair at the FabSugar X Gap event about a month ago. These happened to be part of the outfit I put together, and they ended up coming home with me because they were so great. I wanted to glam them up a bit with fun jewelry and some pumps, and keep the rest of the clothing in the same vain of casual with a leather jacket.

Mixology

Treating your stripes like a neutral is probably the easiest way to go about mixing prints. It's a combo I look to time and time again, when silhouettes are simple, and classic. If I was wearing this combo, blazer, shirt, and pencil skirt, in all neutrals, it would have been far too neutral and dated. Gotta keep things fun!

Florals and Stripes

Inspired by this J. Crew catalog look, I decided to try out a more casual, weekend variation with my stripes and florals. Turns out this striped and floral combo is super easy and fun to pull off. I love that I invested in these J. Brand jeans, and even if the floral trend dies off, the frequency of how often I wear them won't!

Spotted and Striped

I'm absolutely loving all the peplum options that are out there right now- I've kinda bought a good amount! I just find them to be the perfect cut to dress up or down, and they are beyond versatile in my opinion. This striped version was perfect to dress up a loose pair of trousers for the office.

Pattern Play

When I'm stumped on how to dress due to the fickle weather in San Francisco, a maxi skirt or dress is the way to go. It's enough coverage to keep you warm, but still breezy if it ends up being warmer than expected. Yesterday I left the foggy climate of the Richmond district for the sunshine and heat of Union Square and was perfectly comfortable for the transition in this outfit!

I also liked how the stripes of the skirt compliment the fan pattern on the blouse. They do not clash at all- instead they hold their own and blend beautifully...In my opinion that is...

LOVE these peep-toes! Super comfy and
super cute!

I also treated myself to something new while downtown yesterday...

These guys were on sale ($39) at Zara so I had to snatch them up.

Also, a fellow blogger featured my Sunny Saturday post this morning. Check it out here! The Anthropologie Connoisseur has a great eye for styling so I recommend taking the time to look through her posts.
