Bohemian Rhapsody

Something about knowing that Summer is around the corner, and feeling it just based on where the sun is in the sky, makes me add boho influences into my look. Though the temperature is not quite there in San Francisco, I couldn't help throwing on my favorite maxi skirt for a Friday in the office, even if I did have to layer up with a leather jacket.

Orange Pop

TGIF!!! I'm so glad it's the weekend. It's been a rough week and I need to unwind.

I'm wearing my cashmere skirt again. It's one of my favorite pieces of all time, though it is quite delicate, so I make sure to wear it sparingly. This blazer is so fun, I love it. It's very structured, but the buffalo plaid and short sleeves make it fun. The thick wool material helps the jacket add warmth without too much bulk as well. Great piece. The pop of orange was just for a nice contrast, and compliments the booties, which are becoming a daily wear, nicely.

Have a great weekend!

Sunday

Today was a good Sunday. The kind of day Sundays should be made of. Even though it's gloomy, I took advantage of the small interval of sun to drink coffee, eat beignets, and eat a sandwich (weird combo, yes) by the beach with Kyle, and Jessica. Super relaxing, and the perfect way to start the day. I hope your day goes by smoothly, so you have a fresh start to your Monday!

Just Another Manic... Tuesday

Getting back into the grind has been hard. It's like there is a mental block that won't let me function on my normal, go-go-go mode. My list of to-do's has been untouched, since I'm getting distracted by friends and food. I can't complain though, I guess. It seems as though this mental block has also applied to my way of dress, too. An easy going maxi, comfy denim shirt, and hat to hide my un-styled hair is pretty much my "still in vacation mode" uniform.

Colors of the Wind

Man it has been crazy windy in the city lately; walking through the financial district a few days ago was a task! Whenever it is windy, you can always count on me wearing the worst outfit for the weather. If there is a hat to be worn, or a short skirt, I will be wearing it. At least the other day, when these were taken, I wore a maxi-skirt. Leaves little chance for an accidental peep-show.
This skirt and I have quite the history, by the way. I bought it on super sale at Madewell, and thought it to be quite the steal. At home, I showed it to Kyle, and noticed a huge tear in the seam by the hem. Thinking it would be an easy fix, I sewed it right up. Admittedly, I didn't want to return it since there weren't anymore of my size, and I thought the problem was solved. The next time I wore it, I tore through my repairs in a second. Why? Because it was so tight around the hem! After taking it to a tailor, getting the tear repaired, and having a slit put in, this skirt is now wearable. So much more effort than it was worth, but it is a lovely maxi, and I couldn't imagine not owning it at this point.

Alta Plaza Park

We've been getting some unusually beautiful weather lately, so yesterday Kyle and I decided to take advantage of it by grabbing some sandwiches and enjoying them at Alta Plaza Park in Pac. Heights. The park is super elevated so you get some awesome views of the bay and city sky line. I definitely recommend this park as a great pic-nic spot for any of you SF natives that read my blog. And HURRY! This weather won't last.

Bows and Stripes

I'm gonna have to be honest; while I love this skirt I find it very difficult to style. I don't know if it's because of the style of the skirt itself, or lack of imagination. This morning while I was figuring out what to wear this pairing came to mind, and I have to be honest that I was a little disappointed in not seeing this before. The structured top in a neutral color helps tone down the bold stripes of the skirt, and because the blouse is not tucked in, yet still defined at the waist, I think it helps continue the line of the silhouette.

Pattern Play

When I'm stumped on how to dress due to the fickle weather in San Francisco, a maxi skirt or dress is the way to go. It's enough coverage to keep you warm, but still breezy if it ends up being warmer than expected. Yesterday I left the foggy climate of the Richmond district for the sunshine and heat of Union Square and was perfectly comfortable for the transition in this outfit!

I also liked how the stripes of the skirt compliment the fan pattern on the blouse. They do not clash at all- instead they hold their own and blend beautifully...In my opinion that is...

LOVE these peep-toes! Super comfy and
super cute!

I also treated myself to something new while downtown yesterday...

These guys were on sale ($39) at Zara so I had to snatch them up.

Also, a fellow blogger featured my Sunny Saturday post this morning. Check it out here! The Anthropologie Connoisseur has a great eye for styling so I recommend taking the time to look through her posts.
