Repeat Offender

Happy Sunday everyone! Hope your weekend was nice and relaxing!

Here's another hot weather look that may seem familiar. I seem to have fallen into a hot weather uniform that involves a slouchy tank tucked into a midi skirt, and since I have only so many items to make various combinations of said pieces, I am officially a repeat offender. If you remember correctly, the last time I took pictures of this skirt it was in front of the same wall. I blame the heat for my lack of creativity. At least I tried something new with my booties? Gimme a break here...!

Alta Plaza Park

We've been getting some unusually beautiful weather lately, so yesterday Kyle and I decided to take advantage of it by grabbing some sandwiches and enjoying them at Alta Plaza Park in Pac. Heights. The park is super elevated so you get some awesome views of the bay and city sky line. I definitely recommend this park as a great pic-nic spot for any of you SF natives that read my blog. And HURRY! This weather won't last.

Green with Envy

Happy Friday everyone! I for one am excited for this weekend. Saturday I'm going to stop by Hardly Strictly Bluegrass for a few hours in GG Park to catch a few bands perform before work. Sunday I am headed to the Alameda Flea Market. It'll be my first time, and I hear it's overwhelming, but I am looking for a few things I hope I find. The heat has been persistent and it's been getting harder and harder to look good while sweating buckets. I've decided to skip additional jewelry and leave accessories out for the most part, but I've found that a cute headband can help you look a bit more pulled together without adding anymore bulk to make you uncomfortable in the heat.

Plum-tastic

Today was a very rare, and very welcomed day off. I got to enjoy it meeting a good friend downtown for some burgers at Super Duper Burger (they really are super duper). We also did some shopping and got to take in some San Francisco sun in the Yerba Buena Gardens. I love the Gardens because it's nestled away in the heart of downtown SF with a fantastic view of all the wonderful architecture.
Onto my outfit: I love this flowy top because I think it to be quite versatile. The hem allows me to layer it under cropped sweaters, tuck it into skirts/pants/shorts/whatever, or knot it up. Today since I am wearing a very fitted plum pencil skirt I thought a billowy top would help balance it out and create modesty. I knotted the front to show off the high waist of the skirt. Add some fun jewelry and you have yourself an outfit rivaling the architecture of Sf's finest. Also say hello to a new bag. I've been needing a bigger bag lately and this one was perfect. It has a vintage appeal and is the perfect size.

Sailing Away

Hey there Summer, you've finally arrived!!!

Today's outfit consists of floaty options, thin layers and fun colors. This skirt was a very special gift from Kyle, and is one of my favorites. I love the vintage shape and styling of the skirt, and how the sail boat print keeps it modern. This isn't the most versatile item I have in my closet, but it can definitely tread the line of modern and throw-back quite nicely.

Blouse and Skirt: Anthropologie. Sweater: Nordstrom Rack. Shoes: Steve Madden. Bag: Lucky Penny. Sunglasses: Vintage.

Also last night I spent about an hour on my nails. Why an hour? I finally tried water marbling, and am quite pleased with the results. While they may not be perfect I will run a tutorial post tomorrow. I think it's a pretty cool way to spice up your regular old nail polish. Pin It

Vested

I'm gonna be honest with you here, I did not wear the following outfit today. I haven't even worn this in the past week. This is something I wore when I was back in LA that I just haven't posted yet. So why did I post this now? Because I wish I was wearing this now. The sun and weather are teasing me. One minute it's sunny and hot, the next it's overcast and freezing. This fickle weather is messing with my mood and I think I'm coming down with a case of SAD. So, if the weather decided to stay nice and warm I would wear this. If not, I have plenty of newly acquired sweaters in cool colors that I would love to sport. You hear me San Francisco???

Glitter Girl

The sun is out and the temperatures are rising! Although I would love to continue wearing my cozy knits and layers, I never mind a little bit of sun and warmth. And so, I decided to celebrate the sun by sporting a festive blazer. A sequined blazer! This may be the kind of thing you wouldn't wear unless you were having a night on the town, but I think that wearing sequins is something that can be worn for any occasion, and no occasion. As long as it's done with some taste, of course.

Peacock Punch

I have to say that the past week and half that I've spent enjoying the sunshine has been Ah-mayyy-zing!!! My skin needed Vitamin D desperately. Wearing shorts, dresses, and lightweight tops has been so wonderful, I'm a little sad I have to go back to foggy, misty San Francisco soon. All good things must come to an end...
This little number is very bright, I know, but I felt it was appropriate since it's been so beautiful! The dress is an oldie but goodie, and the shoes are new thanks to my mama :) I love mixing plum and mustard. Any purple and yellow combo is perfect in my eyes.

Peplum Glam

I'm in Los Angeles, Pacific Palisades to be exact, and it is HOT. But from what I hear SF is cold and foggy, so I really can't complain, can I? Nope :) I bought this strapless top a while ago and I'm so excited to break it out. It's one of my favorites. I can dress it up, dress it down, and wear it around. The best part? I don't feel like it's going to fall off and cause a wardrobe malfunction (thanks anthro).

In Blooms

I've been in Lake Tahoe for two days now and I've been trying to post this for just as long- internet is not reliable up here. Besides that though it is absolutely beautiful. It's warm and sunny and I wish I could stay longer. I've mainly been hanging out on the beach so far and later today we are going to drive around the entire lake and explore whatever seems intriguing.

Here is what I wore my first day here. I was finally able to break out my new Betsey Johnson dress, and though it's black based the blooms make it Summer-y and it keeps me cool in this heat.
