Thankful/Happy New Year!

This year has gone by so fast, I cannot believe that it's almost over. I so excited for what's to come, but I  have to say that this past year has been one of the most life changing years I've ever had.

This year has been so full of positivity, personal to professional, that I can only hope it continues into 2013. I have a job that I absolutely love, at a company that I have so much faith in, and I'm growing and learning so quickly. It's been the career opportunity of a lifetime. Kyle and I will be going strong for three years in a mere two months, and I couldn't be more grateful for his presence in my life. Relationships with my closest friends have never been stronger, and they are like my second family here in San Francisco. Speaking of family, though they are hours away, I'm so happy they are happy, and healthy, and I wish my parents would just retire and move on up here. SF is better than LA ya know!

Of course this blog has hit another year older, and I'm so thankful for all of you guys who come back on a daily basis to see what I wore, and read what I have to say. It's so humbling, and you guys are the motivation that keeps me posting.

With that said, I'm wishing you all a very happy 2013! I wish health, happiness, and success to all of you. See you next year!!!

Marissa Webb

Former VP of womenswear for J. Crew, Marissa Webb, has started her own line, which I absolutely love. I can definitely see the J. Crew influence here, but her collection is much edgier and colorful. Isn't the sequin top and leather pant combo amazing?!

Boyfriend Jeans

I've been looking for a pair of BF jeans for a long time, and I finally found the perfect pair at the FabSugar X Gap event about a month ago. These happened to be part of the outfit I put together, and they ended up coming home with me because they were so great. I wanted to glam them up a bit with fun jewelry and some pumps, and keep the rest of the clothing in the same vain of casual with a leather jacket.

Cozy, Cozy

Hello, hello!! I hope you all had a nice relaxing break! I'm back to the grind, but I'm looking forward to another 4-day weekend, and New Years!
Cozy layers seemed so appropriate after a long weekend, and paring a brightly printed blanket sweater over a leather detailed pullover has the perfect amount of texture play I was looking to achieve...

Boho

The weather has been so gloomy lately- constant rain- so these pics are old, but I thought it would be fun to brighten up the day... somehow. I busted out my favorite jacket a couple of weekends ago, and gave it a little more of a boho twist this time. An airy white shirt, long necklace, and hat definitely brought that out of this printed jacket, while I kept the bottom half classic and streamlined, true to my everyday style.

Statement Making

This has probably been the coldest Fall to Winter transition I have experienced in my 7 years in San Francisco. It's even gotten me down with the flu- which I have never had before! So I thought it the perfect time to invest in a new coat! I wanted a classic color combo, but in a modern and on trend silhouette. This way, I could wear it for years, while standing out. The coat I landed on was a leather detailed, oversized wool coat from Zara. For the construction, and materials it's made from, this thing is a bargain! I never have to worry about an outfit either, because throwing this over anything, like a knit sweater and black jeans, makes an outfit!

Aztec

As you may have seen from last week's Trend-Spotting post, I've really been into the aztec print that has been everywhere. This time I decided to incorporate it into my outfit with a statement skirt, which you also know I've been loving. Next time I'll do a sweater/skirt combo with this, but for now I decided to toughen it up with a coated denim jacket, and slate booties.

Hope you all had a happy Monday!

Stitch Fix

Hey everyone! I hope you had a lovely weekend!

Instead of a regularly scheduled Trend-Spotting post today, I wanted to share with you guys something I'm really excited about!

I've been working at Stitch Fix for close to two months now, and it's been a hustle. We are growing super fast, and customers are loving what we do, so this past weekend, we decided to launch our revamped site. Definitely stop by and check it out, and maybe explore your options if you were to become a member.

A brief summary of what we do is below, but basically we are an online personal shopping service, where we send you a box of personally curated items as often as you'd like. No two boxes are the same, and we take the time to get to know each customer! It's definitely a fun service, and having been a customer before working here, I loved the little box waiting for me when I came home!

Check It Out!

Happy Friday everyone! I'd like you all to go check out What-The-Frock right now for a guest post I did about different new years outfits using the same awesome sequined skirt! Dana runs a great blog about celeb looks for less- among other things so I hope you guys stick around.

Below is a little bit of what you'll see there :)

Cozy New Years Look

If your ideal New Years involves a get together at a good friend's house, or an intimate dinner, try going the cozy route with your look... it is Winter after all! A thick chunky sweater worn casually over the skirt will keep you feeling warm all night. Add some walkable booties, and cute ankle socks for extra warmth, and you got yourself an adorable little number that will have people envious. For a finishing touch, add a statement necklace, and you're good to go!

Statements Skirts and Sweaters

Hey guys! I just wanted to share a look I've been loving lately, that I would totally wear. Cozy sweaters paired with sleek, statement making pencil skirts is such a smart combination. The skirt adds polish, detail, and power while the sweaters pairs it down, and makes the look comfortable. Throw on your favorite pumps, and a warm coat and you got yourself a look worthy of a NYFW street style snap!

Peplum Prep

I don't know how I thought of the idea of layering an oxford under a peplum top, but I love the final result. It's very preppy, and a little out of my normal comfort zone, but I think it's still an edgy twist I always love to incorporate. I threw on my favorite patterned coat over the whole look to soften it up a bit, and a statement collar necklace for a dash of glam. I hope you like!
