Happy Monday everyone!

Just a quick note-- I'm traveling for work and all posts this week are scheduled. My apologies for not stopping by all of your lovely blogs to comment- I promise I am keeping up though!

Below is something I wore for a quick thrift shopping day in the Mission. Though we were promised a beautiful weekend, it was rather gloomy, which made getting dressed all the more difficult. I randomly threw on a cashmere skirt, random top, and leather jacket to head out the door. At least I was protected from the elements; hello wind and mist!

Hot Pink

Hot pink is the epitome of "girly", so when I wear the color I like to take it out of it's element. I'll pair it with boyfriend jeans, messy layers, and in this case, all black, with a hint of edge, just to keep the color more me. That way, I feel as though I am wearing the color, not the other way around.

Inspired

For those of you just tuning in, I was really inspired by this particular look from NYFW, so here is my version of it. Of course, there was no way I could fit any of my wool coats under my moto jacket, so I went for my trench coat. I really like the final result, even though with the hat it may have been a little too Indiana Jones, as a few co-workers may have mentioned ;)

Playing Tour Guide

My family came into town this past weekend to visit, so I played tour guide all weekend long. Though I've been living in San Francisco for nearly 8 years now, I'm still surprised at how much there is to do in this 7x7 city.

On the second day out, I wore this outfit; perfect combo of style and comfort. Black skinny pants are the perfect foundation for some pattern mixing, and tough layers. And of course, I threw on some classic loafers to get me through being on my feet all day.

Cat Walk

Hey all! This is a recent look I wore to go out to see Kyle's band at a local venue. I felt as though the leopard coat was rock n' roll enough, a la Kate Moss, to warrant wearing a crisp blouse. This is also definitely something I could see myself wearing to the office. I'm surprised at how this bold printed coat is so versatile! Also, instead of my usual red lip, I've been trying a bold pink one by Nars. What do you think?

Bundle Up!

This outfit was put together very quickly, on a very rushed morning. As you can see, when I'm rushed I immediately go for neutrals/black, so in order to keep the outfit interesting I play with the elements to make it unique. Tucking my jeans into socks, throwing on a (useful) beanie, and topping it off with a brightly colored necklace, adds the perfect unique touches, to keep this from getting too boring.

Step One

So, I know I haven't shared my New Year's Resolutions with you all, but they truly aren't interesting. Well, except for this one...

In an effort to curb my shopping habits, and rebuild a closet full of quality pieces, I've decided that before I make any purchases in 2013 (anything new you see from this point on was bought before the 1st, I swear) I will revisit every single piece in my closet, and make an outfit I love out of it. If I can't, then it goes. After that, I make a list of quality pieces I need, and quit the impulse shopping. Wish me luck guys!

And here is the first outfit of the new process. I haven't worn these pants in a long time. Granted it's been too cold for airy silk trousers, I've found them hard to wear regardless. So I went for a boho, edgy look, and this is what I came up with. I love it! What do you think?

New Years Day

New Year's Day needed a little bit of the glitz and glam from the night before to carry over, so I threw on my sequin jacket for a day roaming the city. I still am surprised at how easy this jacket is to wear for daily outfits; kudos J. Crew. 

Today was the first day back at work, and I have to say, two 4-day weekends in a row makes it tough to get back into the swing of things. Hopefully by next Monday I am back to normal!

Sunset

Rarely do I get to enjoy beautiful SF sunsets during the week, so this weekend I decided that I should take advantage of my roof access and enjoy the view. I live within walking distance of the coast- so the views can't be beat. 

I wore a cozy men's sweater layered with a scarf and leather jacket to beat the breeze.
