Last Minute Outfit Ideas: Valentine's Day

Tomorrow is Valentine's day, and I don't know about you guys, but I've been so busy, I haven't even had a chance to think about what I would wear. Thankfully, dinner reservations were up to Kyle, and not me, or else we'd be eating take-out at my place... So I have put together three outfit options for different scenarios, and if you ladies are like me, I hope this sparks some inspiration!

Valentine's Outfit

Oufit #1- Work to Dinner Date:

The most relatable to my evening plans; the working woman is going to have to put together a look that can go from the office to a romantic dinner smoothly. Above I took the classic office silhouette, and turned it up a few notches with textures, colors, prints, and embellishments. A plum satin peplum blouse is the romantic factor. Pair it with a metallic striped pencil skirt, and you have a look that is special, and different from what anyone else in your office will be wearing. Pair a bold necklace with muted pumps, and top it off with an oversized coat. This is what I'll be aiming to create tomorrow night!

Outfit #2- Going out with the single ladies:

Don't have a V-day date? Awesome. Plan a dinner/girl's night out with your single friends, and wear this to the bar. Classic black jeans serve as the perfect foundation for a flirty floral peplum top. Accent the colors in the print with plum mid-calf wedge boots, and a burgundy satchel. Top it off with a tough leather jacket, and just have fun!

Outfit #3: The Big Date

If Valentine's day is more of a special evening for you and your man, then you may as well go all out with your outfit! Throw on a color blocked midi dress with a unique silhouette for the classic, yet cool look. Pair it with bold earrings, and another pop of color in the heels. Make sure to have a nice clutch on hand and top it all off with a classic black pea coat. The outfit, and evening should be one to remember!

Birth Night

Ok, so these weren't taken at night, but I wanted to show you all what I wore out to dinner! The night was pretty casual; just some delicious food, and amazing friends to feast with. We went to Straw SF, which is where the wildest food dreams come true. Don't believe me? There was a film crew for "World's Weirdest Restaurants" filming there while we ate. You can catch it in Canada, or wait for my review, coming soon.
Onto the outfit. Nothing too spectacular, and sparkly like I had previously shown, but I think I nailed it for the occasion. Cute shirt-dress, fun tights, a little bit of jewelry, and a bright lip. Easy and put together. The only thing I could have done without was the belt, only so there would have been more room in my belly for more delicious weird food.

Dress: Zara. Tights: Unknown. Shoes: Miss Albright. Necklace: Vintage. Belt: Elizabeth and James. Watch: Vintage. Bracelet: Gifted. Sunglasses: Vintage.

Currently Craving: Birthday Dress

My 23rd birthday is officially in one week!!! It's not a milestone birthday or anything like that, but I'm excited to see all my friends in one place for a night. I'm not doing anything too extravagant; just a nice dinner with my favorite people, and maybe a bar afterwards. Pretty simple and low-key. I don't think I'm going to buy a "birthday" dress, I have plenty I could wear, but there a few dresses have caught my eye as possibilities for the occasion. These dresses are also things I would wear through the holiday season and into New Year's Eve.

This dress is simple but the velvet takes it up a notch. The navy color and sheen from the fabric makes it easy to pile on different colored accessories. I would pair this with bold jewelry everywhere and a sexy pair of patterned tights like these. Best of all it's warm!
I like the pattern on this dress, and I don't have a dress with this silhouette. I would wear this with a bold necklace, this belt, thick wool tights, and booties.

This dress is the quite party dress! It's beautiful, and I would feel amazing wearing it. Since it's so standout you would hardly need to accessorize. Simple smoky eye make-up, black tights, and a great pair of pumps would perfectly accent this dress.

This is the ultimate special occasion dress! No one can do embellishments better than AllSaints. Actually no one can do a lot of things better than them. I would initially buy this for New Year's, but my birthday is pretty special, and so is this dress, so it's a match made in heaven. Like the dress above, I would keep accessories to a bare minimum.
