Step One

So, I know I haven't shared my New Year's Resolutions with you all, but they truly aren't interesting. Well, except for this one...
In an effort to curb my shopping habits, and rebuild a closet full of quality pieces, I've decided that before I make any purchases in 2013 (anything new you see from this point on was bought before the 1st, I swear) I will revisit every single piece in my closet, and make an outfit I love out of it. If I can't, then it goes. After that, I make a list of quality pieces I need, and quit the impulse shopping. Wish me luck guys!
And here is the first outfit of the new process. I haven't worn these pants in a long time. Granted it's been too cold for airy silk trousers, I've found them hard to wear regardless. So I went for a boho, edgy look, and this is what I came up with. I love it! What do you think?

Jacket: Michael Kors. Sweater: Unknown. Pants: Madewell. Hat: Pendleton. Necklace: Banana Republic. Shoes: Anthropologie. Sunglasses: Michael Kors.

  1. Ah I love those printed trousers so much honey, such a lovely print. Really love the edgier way you've styled this time around and especially so with that cool sweater. I think your new years resolution is a very smart one indeed and I wish you good luck with keeping to it :)

Take care and have an awesome weekend,

  2. I really love that you turned out such a "boho" outfit -- the shoes "finish" it off. I have lots of pants like those (Must have been from my MC Hammer days) but I slouch around in flats and occasionally friends ask why I'm wearing pajamas!

    1. That's what I am afraid of too! They definitely look like pajamas- so i try to make them as styles as possible!

  4. I would LOVE to purge my closet but I have such a hard time letting go of things I've spent so much money on :-( What do you plan to do with the clothes you get rid of? Sell or donate?

    1. I have an attachment as well to all of my stuff so it's tough! I plan to donate and sell. Depends on each individual piece I guess.
