Currently Craving: Kimono

In anticipation of some Summer weather, I have been thinking about my favorite piece, from my favorite runway collection; the Kimono from Dries S/S '13 collection. It would be the perfect layer to throw over nearly anything I would wear in the Summer. Of course, there is no way for me to own this particular kimono, but the options below are nice alternatives.

Kimono Details

I love seeing different cultural influences in fashion, especially Asians influences. We saw a lot of that during the Fall Fashion Week presentations, so I was super excited to see this jacket at a local consignment shop. What was even more exciting was that it's a Dries piece that fit to perfection. It was my lucky day for sure. For it's debut I thought a simple black maxi skirt and belt would highlight the kimono influence of the jacket, and really streamline the pattern.

Trend-Spotting: Touch Of Punk

Well if the Met Gala wasn't enough to convince you, punk is making a come-back! No need to go full on tough with the trend, but incorporating little things, like leather details, studs, plaid, and lived in band tee-shirts, personalizes a look just enough. I personally love adding little details like this, especially when I'm headed to one of Kyle's shows.

April Must Have's

Instead of covering a trend today, I thought I would share some must have's for April. The past week, we saw some warmer temps that were making me crave pretty sundresses, neutral sandals for day and night, pops of color and boho influence, and of course, new sunglasses. Flirting With Spring

The warmer weather I've been experiencing has gotten me so excited for Spring! Below are some items I would love to incorporate into my wardrobe. The Spring '13 Dries Van Noten Collection heavily influenced this little collage, as that is probably my favorite collection, from anyone, to date.

Dries Van Noten Fall 2013

 Always an absolute favorite, Dries Van Noten, once again blew me away! I can never tire of their signature print and proportion play. The little hints of embellishments showcased this season, with the feathers, embellished necklines, and embroidered details were the perfect touch to what I already consider perfection. Now who wants to buy their Spring 2012 and Fall 2013 line???
