I've been wanting to go to Lake Tahoe this summer but I can't convince my BF to go. He thinks it will be a zoo with a ton of people on the lake. Although we've been to Tahoe recently in the winter, we have never gone together in the summer. Last time I was there in the summer was probably in my childhood. So is the lake really crowded now? Your photos seem to show a tranquil setting but I'm wondering if it's just the way you shot your photos.
Hi Lisa, It was pretty touristy but it depends on where you go. South Lake tahoe (near Heavenly) was pretty nice since it is more residential (There are motels though). Pope Beach was really nice, and like I mentioned in the previous post, if you go far down enough in the parking lot you get lead to a part of the beach where it's pretty private. You can also raft along the Truckee river which is pretty nice as well. I recommend going despite it being crowded because it's so big and there is so much to do you'll find moments of isolation.
