Trend-Spotting: Leather Over Wool

I love this layered look shown at Altuzaara's Fall 2013 show at NYFW, so I thought I would replicate it, in two color ways below. It's a great combination to stay warm, and edgy all at once! Would you try this layered look, or is it too much?

Birthday Wishes

Well, I'm turning 24 at the end of the month, so I decided to share the list of items I'm currently coveting for my birthday. Fashion meets functions with this list, and if I were to wake up to one of these all wrapped up for me, I'd flip! The leopard coat by By Malene Birger is phenomenal, and exactly what I've been holding out for. The Mars booties by Rachel Comey are a closet staple, and I need new black booties in my arsenal. The Marc by Marc Jacobs bag has been mentioned quite a few times here, but can you blame me? It's timeless! The Dannijo necklace is the ultimate statement necklace that I'd wear with anything, from a crappy tee to a red-carpet gown. I desperately need a new camera, so why  not invest in this Nikon DSLR to meet all my photo needs (blog included)? And finally... my 5 year old MacBook is beginning to show signs of aging :( so it's about time for an upgrade.

And of course, the most important wish is to have another healthy, happy, and productive year, with all my loved ones in tow <3

Military Chic

Here is a look that I would absolutely love to own and wear! I love the Military inspired looks that came down the runway this past Fall Burberry show, and channeled that with this look. The vest style dress with oversized pockets is absolutely gorgeous, and I would pair a white button down to make it a little more crisp. Ankle strap heels continue the toughness of the look, while the red lip, and sparkly statement bangle feminize it. The bag is one I have been eyeing for months, and trusty Ray-Bans are my go to!

Trend-Spotting: Chelsea Boots

The Chelsea style boot is the perfect late Summer to Fall transition. Wear it now with mini skirts and cutoffs, and in the Fall, and even Winter, pair them with anything from skinny jeans, to maxis. They are the perfect all weather, always comfy, almost always appropriate boot!
