I recently saw the movie My Week With Marilyn, and was inspired by how effortless Marilyn Monroe looked in the outfits with a buttoned up blouse. She had the top buttons completely open, with the collar open over her shoulders, and while it didn't work with the blouse I am wearing due to its stiffness, it inspired me to pair it with a vintage style skirt. I am also on the hunt for a flowy white button up blouse now. Don't you love how movies can get your gears going, sometimes?

  1. I really want to see that film! I am loving how it inspired your outfit, so gorgeous!

  2. I always try to do the effortless button up shirt look, but it never turns out well on me. I think it definitely has something to do with the material of the shirt, like you said. Love the skirt and boots on you!

  3. Jackie: It was SUCH a good movie! Definitely make time to check it out!

Jenn: Thank you :) I'm finding it pretty hard to find a decent blouse that doesn't look cheap, but also doesn't cost an arm and a leg. Who knew it would be difficult!

  4. you look adorable! love the whole look! check out my blog and maybe follow me if you like. :)
