Monday

Happy Monday everyone! This past weekend we saw one day of sunlight, and mild temperatures, so I had to bust out a bright pair of shorts, and new flirty shoes, even though I was still a bit chilly. I am so jealous of all these other bloggers, and all of you who are beginning to experience a real summer. I'll be here posing in Winter worthy outfits for the next few months, until August rolls around and San Francisco sees it's "Summer." I mean... it's raining today... no fun.

Short Story

Whoever said shorts can't be chic has me wondering why. Granted, there are shorts out there that should never be worn in public (hello super short denim cutoffs, I'm talking to you), for the most part, classic shapes can be worn in a multitude of ways, including this casual office look. I, once again, gravitated towards my white blazer, because it adds an element on clean-ness to any look, and is perfect to sharpen out an outfit. The blouse hasn't been worn in ages, but I thought it would contrast the stark white, and gray shorts perfectly. I threw on black sandals, and my go-to satchel, and I was ready to take on the day.

Leather Love

Hopefully everyone is nice and full from Turkey Day goodness! Now it's the weekend, and what more could you ask for other than a full stomach and a couple of days to relax?? No Black Friday for me!
I wore this outfit for Thanksgiving in Santa Cruz with Kyle's family. With all the amazing food to eat, what else is more appropriate to wear than an extremely baggy, oversized sweater? If you know me though, you know that I have to keep things a little edgy, and the leather sleeves couldn't be any cooler. Top it off with a new Pendleton hat and you got an outfit, my friends.

How was everyone's Thanksgiving? Did you get some Black Friday deals?

Caught in Suspension

It was a GORGEOUS Sunday today, so my mom and I strolled (and shopped) in the Marina. It was seriously such a beautiful day. I thought I had dressed for the weather, but it was much hotter than expected. Anyways, I love the suspenders on my shorts and the bold shoulders on the blouse. It's the little quirks in life that put a smile on my face.

Rosy

Here is a quick look at what I am wearing today. I know, they weren't taken in the most interesting location, but I had no photographer today so I had to make do...

Anyway, onto my outfit. Last night while online window shopping I was looking at a pair of gray wool shorts paired with gray tights, and I thought to myself "Hey, I have those. I can do that!" So here it is, gray shorts with gray tights, but I decided to swap out a plain pair of gray tights for a pair of rose patterned ones to spice things up. To add further interest to the outfit I put on a bright sweater and a patterned scarf.

Mom Shorts

We are all very familiar with the "Mom Jean". We also have our opinions about it. Known as the man repeller, I personally think that there are a few lucky bodies (and booties) out there that can pull off a "mom jean" and look fabulous. I unfortunately am not one of those lucky few, so in come the "mom shorts". Literally, these are my mother's shorts. I got them hemmed a bit shorter and threw on a belt, and voila! I'm lucky to have a mom that doesn't throw anything away because I always find something I want whenever I visit. I threw on a comfy soft shirt and a bold cardigan (do you see a rust pattern yet?) to complete the easy casual look.

Shorts & Tights

I have always wanted to try the shorts and tights pairing but never had the guts to do it. Wearing tights with all the shorts I owned at the time just looked goofy. I recently bought a new pair of shorts, and paring them with tights looks so effortless, I absolutely love it. I believe it is because they are a higher rise and wider leg than most shorts, which I think is key. It achieves nearly the same silhouette of short A-line skirt, but with way less risk of having the SF wind blow up your skirt.

(I promise my eyes are open for this shot!)
